Geography
The Valle di Non, the largest valley in Trentino, has been treated geo-morphological very particular with the presence of a series of rolling amphitheaters that rise in concentric circles from the bottom, where the landscape is dotted with orchards, up to the highest where the environment is typically Alpine, forests, meadows and rocks. The entire territory of the Valley is not affected by deep gorges and canyons carved out by the many waterways in the centuries Corsican, which represent one of the distinctive traits.
The valley is surrounded by the group Maddalene mountainous north, from the Brenta Dolomites southwest, Anauni Mountains to the east and south Paganella, which closed in their hug the bottom, real flower garden in spring and summer, when the valley is full of colours, with fruit trees covered with flowers and loads of fruit. From a geological point of view the valley is characterized by a depression where tectonic come into contact different rock formations. This is an area of transition three platform porphyric Bolzano and groups-Adamello Brenta, affected by glacial erosion.
The Walnut River and its tributaries profoundly affect the rock going to create very deep gorge, the largest of which, that of Santa Giustina, has been filled by hydroelectric basin in 1950, in part by changing the appearance of the landscape. The climate generally mild case presents very different stemming from significant changes in altitude. The temperate climate and sunny, with a particularly fertile ground, has encouraged the development of a flourishing, specializing today in the production of fruit and particularly apples. Of great importance is also the cheese production, mainly cheese grain.
The landscape plant in the valley is dominated by the presence of orchards, mostly trees and peri, while shares higher predominate meadows, forests cedui and Scots pine, leaving then replaced by larches and firs in the areas of high mountains. As for wildlife, the main point of interest is the presence of several brown bears in the most inaccessible areas of the park-Adamello Brenta, where he was recently reintroduced, but some even species typical of the Alpine with deer, roe deer, chamois, capercaillies and black. Especially rich fish in the river and Walnut numerous tributaries.
But next to points of interest when it comes to Valle di Non not forget the rich historical and cultural heritage: the archaeological site of Sanzeno, where he was brought to light an ancient village retico age of iron, castles, palaces and mansions, painted houses, churches and shrines represent an invaluable wealth and are of great historical and artistic reach for anyone in this pleasant valley.
